Business: Reception and Showroom Displays

For company receptions, showroom entrances and visitor areas. Display video, welcome text and visitor information together, then create a scheduled welcome program that returns to regular content after the visit.

Prepare the content

Gather one company video, a welcome message, a short visit agenda and an optional logo. Start with unattended playback before adding guided interaction.

Example text:

text
Title: Welcome to Our Showroom
Visit agenda:
14:00 Reception check-in
14:30 Showroom tour
15:00 Meeting
Directions: Please check in at the ground-floor desk

This agenda is display text. It does not create reservations, check-in records or visitor recognition.

1. Create a landscape program

Create a landscape 16:9 program named Business - Everyday Welcome. Start with one region and add the others below, or adapt your own copy of a video-and-information template.

Reception layout with video, visitor text and a live clock

RegionHorizontal rangeVertical rangeContent
Welcome title0% → 100%0% → 15%Welcome text or a logo/title image

Directions0% → 75%85% → 100%A short location reminder
Current time75% → 100%85% → 100%Digital clock widget

Keep the title and agenda concise. If the space only calls for full-screen video, begin with a single video region and add text later.

2. Add the company video

  1. Select Company video and upload or choose a video from your media library.
  2. Use Contain when subtitles or logos near the edges must remain visible. Use filling/cropping only when acceptable.
  3. Set a suitable volume for the reception area and existing announcements.
  4. Start with one video. If you add more, arrange them in order and preview all transitions.

The region is 70% of both the canvas width and height, so it retains 16:9 proportions. Check other video ratios for borders or cropping on the actual display.

3. Add text and a live clock

Select each text region separately, add text media and replace the examples with your actual information.

  • Make the welcome title large and align it to the design.
  • Use clear multiline spacing for the agenda; keep scrolling off initially.
  • Limit directions to one or two readable lines.
  • Use plain backgrounds and modest internal padding.

In Current time, add Builtin Widget → Digital Clock and adjust its size and color. The clock uses the Player's system time, so check its date and time zone. A typed time string will not advance automatically.

This example needs neither weather nor camera content. See built-in widgets and text media for their controls.

4. Keep the welcome screen automatic

In the video region's settings, keep Fixed Play and Random Play off. You can select the video region as the main screen so the primary content supplies the program duration and receives relevant remote paging commands.

An ordinary reception display needs no focus, click actions or click-to-fullscreen. For a separate presenter-led slide program, enable fixed playback there and test remote paging. Avoid leaving the unattended welcome program stuck on one item.

5. Separate everyday and visit-specific programs

Save the everyday welcome program, then copy it as Business - Visitor Welcome. Change only the visit-specific message and agenda. Append it to the same Player as another main program:

ProgramSchedulePriority
Everyday welcomeNo start/stop restrictionMedium
Visitor welcomeOne-time dates/times covering the visitHigh

After the visitor program expires, the everyday content remains valid and resumes. See play-plan settings.

You can also manually edit the same welcome program when automatic recovery is unnecessary. In that case, recheck the title and date before each visit so old visitor information is not left on screen.

6. Preview and check on site

  1. Watch a complete video in Preview, including subtitles, audio, borders and any transitions.
  2. Save and cast to one reception device. Check text overflow and the clock.
  3. Test the visitor program's start/stop times and return to everyday content.
  4. For more showroom displays, choose shared content, different content or a combined-screen arrangement according to the actual requirement.

Independent reception displays can share one program. To form one continuous picture across screens, see video-wall playback; sending the same video independently is not automatic partitioning.

Later updates

Choose a new file in the video media when the company film changes, and edit the relevant text regions for wording updates. Save and confirm Player synchronization. Keeping video, welcome text and schedules separate reduces the work needed for each visit.
