Retail Chains: Promotions Across Stores

For convenience stores, supermarkets, fashion shops and other retail chains. Build a portrait program with a campaign title, rotating product posters and store reminders, then send shared content to a selected group of store displays.

Decide what stores can share

ContentApproach
The same brand campaign at every storeShare one program and update that program centrally
Different prices, stock or hoursMake separate program copies for the stores that differ
Mixed landscape and portrait displaysSeparate the device groups and create matching program layouts

Do not send a single price poster to stores that use different prices. Copies are independent; changing the head-office original does not automatically update store-specific copies.

1. Prepare campaign material

Prepare three portrait posters, starting with 1080 × 1440 images for the 3:4 poster region below. Also prepare a campaign title, expiry time, participating stores and concise terms.

For example: title This Week's Picks, and a reminder such as Ends Sunday | Selected products | See store prices. Have the store owner verify the actual prices and terms before publishing them to displays.

2. Create a portrait layout

Create a portrait 9:16 program, start with one region and name it Retail - Weekly Offers - Portrait. You can also choose a similar portrait layout in the store/supermarket template category and adapt your copy.

Product posters0% → 100%10% → 85%Three posters
Store reminder0% → 100%85% → 100%Terms, opening hours or other short text

The poster region uses 75% of a 9:16 canvas's height, giving it a 3:4 aspect ratio. If you already have finished 9:16 posters, the easiest alternative is one full-screen region with titles and terms included in the artwork.

3. Add content to each region

  1. Select Campaign title, add short text and keep scrolling off.
  2. Select Product posters, add the three images and arrange their order.
  3. Start with 10 seconds per image, then adjust for the amount of information.
  4. Use Contain for price posters so edge text remains visible. Prepare artwork at the region's ratio where possible.
  5. Add one multiline text item to Store reminder. Prefer static short terms; use slow scrolling only when necessary.

Keep fixed and random playback off initially. If visitors should not enlarge regions by tapping, keep click-to-fullscreen off in the program settings.

4. Organize store devices

Under My Device, use names that identify the location and screen, such as East Street - Checkout - Portrait. Place compatible devices into an appropriate device group, such as Regional Stores - Portrait Promotions.

Choose the device-group casting target and check the target summary. Use an ordinary device group; this task does not need video-wall mode or screen groups inside the program.

Shared updates and synchronized transitions are separate requirements. Ordinary playback is enough for stores to receive the same campaign. Use same-content synchronization when neighboring displays must change together.

5. Return to regular content after the campaign

Keep a permanent regular program, then append the campaign. Both are main programs:

ProgramValidityPriority
Regular brand/productsNo start or stop restrictionMedium
This campaignOne-time start and stop with actual dates/timesHigh

The high-priority campaign plays while valid. After it expires, the still-valid regular program resumes. Use Append to retain the fallback relation.

Writing an expiry date on a poster does not automatically retire it. Set the relation's stop time as well. See play plans.

6. Test one store before expanding

  1. Preview and save, then cast to one test device.
  2. Check the title, full poster cycle, terms and viewing distance.
  3. Use a short test schedule to verify campaign start, expiry and regular-content recovery.
  4. Send to the selected store group after verification, and check each device's connectivity and synchronization status.

See cloud casting for centralized updates. Saving successfully in the Admin app does not prove an offline store has received the new content; confirm what its Player actually displays.

Maintain the campaign without accumulating old programs

When the same targets share one program, replace its images or text, save and confirm synchronization. Creating and appending another program for every small content update can leave several campaigns valid at once.

Use separate programs and relations for distinct campaign schedules, and tidy old relations afterwards. Store-specific copies still need separate maintenance.

Acceptance checks

  • All three posters appear, with prices and terms fully visible.
  • Portrait content has not been sent to landscape-only devices.
  • The target stores are correct and regular content resumes after expiry.
  • Actual device screens show the update, and stores with different prices use their own program.
